Proposed engagement and consultation

We are committed to creating positive outcomes for the community (also known as social impact or value), listening to the aspirations of local residents and working with you to create new neighbourhoods that will benefit future generations of Warringtonians.

We want to make sure our engagement is as inclusive as possible, so we will be using a variety of channels to reach out to local residents. Our plan is to co-create a development that delivers positive social impact for both new and existing residents and we look forward to working together to make that positive change a reality.

Homes England is working in partnership with Warrington Borough Council to prepare a 'Development Framework' for the South East Warrington Urban Extension.

A Development Framework is not a planning application; it is a document that will be approved by the Council to show how and when the development at South East Warrington will be constructed, including the location of new homes, infrastructure provision and design guidance; detailed planning applications will then follow what is set out in the Development Framework.

We are in the very early stages of this process and we want to ensure there is an opportunity to understand your thoughts on what you want to see in South East Warrington.

We will be holding a series of drop-in events where you can meet us and the project team, learn more about the South East Warrington Urban Extension and Appleton Cross Local Centre site and provide your feedback. We will have activities for children so please do bring the whole family along!
